Postgame Notes
Wisconsin 48, Illinois 3
Nov. 12, 2016
Camp Randall Stadium
Madison, Wis.

TEAM NOTES
  • Today's captains: Senior OLB Vince Biegel, senior RB Dare Ogunbowale, junior LT Ryan Ramczyk and junior OLB T.J. Watt.
  • Wisconsin won its seventh-straight game vs. Illinois, the longest win streak by either team in the history of the series. The Badgers lead the all-time series with the Illini, 40-36-7.
  • The Badgers own a 13-3 mark against the Big Ten West Division since the league moved to its current divisional setup in 2014.
  • Since the start of the 2006 season, Wisconsin is 32-7 (.821) in the month of November.
  • UW has won 8 of its first 10 games for the fourth-consecutive season.
  • The Badgers' 48 points marked their most in a Big Ten game since a 48-10 win over Rutgers on Oct. 31, 2015.
  • Wisconsin's 21 points in the first quarter marked the Badgers' highest-scoring first period since scoring 21 in a 56-32 win at Illinois on Oct. 19, 2013.
  • UW held Illinois to just 3 points, lowering the Badgers' scoring defense to a mere 12.7 ppg this season. UW entered the game ranked third in the NCAA in scoring defense. The Badgers led the nation in scoring D last season, relenting 13.7 ppg.
  • Wisconsin's 3 points allowed are the team's fewest in a Big Ten game since shutting out Rutgers on Nov. 1, 2014.
  • The Badgers gave up a season-low 200 yards of total offense to Illinois, UW's best effort since surrendering 165 yards to Rutgers on Oct. 31, 2015.
  • Wisconsin's defense surrendered a field goal in the first quarter. UW has allowed a total of 9 points in the first quarter of its 10 games, an average of 0.9 points in the first quarter.
  • With a combined 4 interceptions by safeties D'Cota Dixon, Leo Musso and Ryan Connelly, the Badgers have now grabbed 14 picks in 10 games this season, the team's most picks since collecting 16 interceptions in 2011.
  • Wisconsin's 4 interceptions equal the team's highest total of the last 25 years. Over that span, the Badgers have notched 4 INTs on 11 occassions, most recently in a 70-23 win over Northwestern on Nov. 27, 2010.
  • UW held Illinois without a third-down conversion (0-for-9), the first time a Badgers' opponent has been shut out on third down since at least 1998.
  • The Badgers held a season-best 42:03 to 17:57 advantage in time of possession. This marks the third time this season UW has possessed the ball for at least 40 minutes. Saturday marked Wisconsin's highest T.O.P. since holding it for 42:47 against Ohio State on Oct. 10, 2009.
  • UW did not turn the ball over for the second-consecutive game. The Badgers have forced 5 turnovers over that two-game stretch.
  • Wisconsin finished with a season-high 363 rushing yards, the most in the Paul Chryst era.
  • The Badgers ran the ball on 29 on their final 30 offensive plays from scrimmage.
  • With 123 yards from Corey Clement and 103 from Dare Ogunobwale, the Badgers had a pair of 100-yard rushers in game for the first time since the 2015 Outback Bowl (Melvin Gordon, 215; Corey Clement, 105).

  • Senior RB Corey Clement carried 25 times for 123 yards, recording three TDs in a game for the second time in his career (also vs. Rutgers, Oct. 31, 2015). Clement made a season-long 24-yard reception in the first quarter. Clement has now topped 100 yards rushing in 4 of the last 5 contests.
