Women's Results Get Adobe Acrobat Reader
MADISON, Wis. - The No. 24 Wisconsin women's track and field team rounded out the indoor regular season at home as it hosted the Red and White Open at the Shell on Friday evening.
Despite several of UW's top athletes not participating in the meet, the Cardinal and White were still able to win six events and record 10 personal best marks.
Three-time Big Ten Conference Field Athlete of the Week
Kelsey Card continued her season dominance in the shot put as she took first place with a mark of 58 feet, 1 1/4 inches.
Card also took second in the in the weight throw with a toss of 68-8.
Redshirt freshman
Banke Oginni earned new personal records in both the shot put and the weight throw. In the shot put, Oginni took third with a personal best of 49-10 and in the weight throw, she placed third with a mark of 61-7 .
Fellow thrower
Kennedy Blahnik also earned a new personal record in the weight throw with a toss of 60-4 that put her in fifth place. Blahnik also took fourth in the shot put with a heave of 49-1 .
Ebony McClendon continued her hot streak in the 60 meters, winning the event in 7.62 seconds.
Junior
Brenna Detra earned another win for UW as she crossed in the line in 1:33.13 in the 600 meters to earn a new personal best.
Sarah Heinemann sat atop of the standings for the mile as she cruised to a win in 5:08.16.
In the 3,000 meters,
Lianna Mack smashed her previous personal best by nearly 18 seconds as she finished in 10:05.37 after an incredible kick on the final lap to take first. Redshirt sophomore
Colette Richter was not far behind as she finished in second in 10:11.92.
In the pole vault,
Taylor Amann and
Claire Buck packed a 1-2 punch. Amann soared to a new personal best with a clearance of 13-2 to claim the event. Buck took second with a new personal record of 12-2 which bested her previous record by seven-and-a-half inches.
All-American
Georgia Ellenwood earned second place in the 60 meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 8.67.
Freshman
Madison Smith also notched two new personal records by finishing the 200 meters in 27.32 to finish 14th and the 400 meters in 1:01.78 to take seventh.
The Badgers next see action on Friday-Saturday as they compete at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
