Coach quotes
Head coach Yvette Healy
On the game in general
"I'm just really proud of the team for extending the game. I think Northwestern is outstanding and early on they came on so strong and so fast, we easily could have gotten run-ruled if we didn't have a mature team. Kirsten Stevens found her groove and the defense settled in, which kept us in it long enough for us to rally at the end."
 On the late-game rally
"I'm happy. I think we've done it against Northwestern before, I think it shows a lot of fight. Whenever you face a ranked team or a team that's very good, you're always just trying to give yourself a chance to win at the end. Whenever you have the winning run come to the plate in the seventh, we're really proud. It's a great first step and sometimes before you beat those teams you have to have a great shot at it."
 On today's key performances
"Kelsey Jenkins obviously had a great game. She had the two big RBIs and that was exciting from there. It was fun to see Kirsten settle in and put up four zeros from the pitching mound in the back-side four innings. There were some good things. Ashley (Van Zeeland) kept turning it over which was exciting to give Chloe (Miller) a chance at the end and that is a pretty big deal."
 On tomorrow's game
"Hopefully we can build on today. I like what we looked like at the end so if we could pick up where we left off and settle in right from the start, it could be exciting. We're just working on trying to steal a game."
