MADISON, Wis. -- In its final home meet and regular season competition of the year, the Wisconsin men's track and field team won six titles at the Wisconsin Twilight on Friday at the McClimon Memorial Track.

"Overall, kids performed and that's all you can ask for when you come out tonight for the home meet" Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mick Bryne said. "We had a great crowd, great weather, and a great atmosphere around here."Â

In a meet honoring Badger seniors,
Zach Ziemek stepped up to the plate with a win in the pole vault. The veteran hit a mark of 16 feet 6 inches that couldn't be replicated by the competition.Â

"Double Z" also ran the anchor of a 4x100 meter squad that claimed a first-place finish in 40.29.Â

Junior
Lorenzo Larry claimed another victory in the 100-meter dash. Holding the number-one seeded Big Ten time in the 100 meters going into the Wisconsin Twilight, Lorenzo didn't disappoint. Running another elite time at the Twilight, Lorenzo crossed the line in 10.44. In addition, Larry ran the second leg of the Badgers' 4x100 relay.

Sophomore
Riley Budde hit another personal best, which is becoming a habit of his. Budde finished second in the shot put with a mark of 62-5 which ranks fourth in the Big Ten.Â

The Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, native also tied for a second-place finish in the discus with a mark of 182-1.Â

Freshman Eric Brown raised the stakes of his outdoor campaign by running to a personal best in the 800 meters. Brown won with a time of 1:49.46.
Cooper Barth also competed in the 800 meters and finished fourth with a time of 1:51.37.Â

Brandon Mortensen and
Charlie Foss led efforts in the javelin throw. The senior duo went one-two in the throw and both claimed personal bests. Mortensen earned a first-place finish with a toss of 188-3 while Foss finished second, marking 181-8.Â
Junior
Ryan Davis capped off his regular season with wins in the 4x100 meter relay and a solo win in the 400 meters. Davis broke his previous season best in the 400 meters and ushered in a win with a time of 47.28.

Zac Webster represented UW in the triple jump. The sophomore earned a second-place finish with a personal-best jump of 46-11 1/2 which ranks 15th in the Big Ten.Â

Tim Guthrie also participated in the men's pole vault and finished second with a mark of 15-8 1/4.

Badger field legend
Michael Lihrman stopped by for the hammer throw at the Twilight. The UW legend competed unattached and demolished the marks set by the competition. The Rice Lake native won with a toss of 241-9.

The UW track and field squad now turns its attention to the 2016 Big Ten Outdoor Championships. The meet will be hosted by the Huskers in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the Ed Weir Stadium. The three-day meet will start on Friday and conclude on Sunday.

"Everything we do is preparation for Big Tens, which start Friday," Byrne said. "It's a week from tonight. We have the rosters set, it's just putting icing on the cake for the next couple days. We don't want to overdo it."
