
Wisconsin places 100 Badgers on spring Academic All-Big Ten list

UW student-athletes of spring sports recognized by Big Ten for academics
MADISON, Wis. – A total of 100 student-athletes from the University of Wisconsin have received the honor of earning spots on the spring Academic All-Big Ten teams, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday.
Leading the way for the spring sports was women's rowing, who had 16 student-athletes honored. Women's lightweight rowing was close behind with 14 selections, while women's track and field had 13 honorees, men's rowing had 12 selections and men's track and field had 11 named to the team. The men's and women's golf teams and the women's tennis team each had four student-athletes receive the prestigious honor, while the men's tennis team had five. The softball team had nine student-athletes recognized and the women's hockey team had eight.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
A total of 203 Badgers earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 23 different sports.
