
Konwent selected to Premier Girls Fastpitch All-American team

Incoming freshman to participate in PGF All-American Game
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin softball incoming freshman Kayla Konwent was selected to play in the Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) High School All-American Game that will take place Friday, July 28 at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, California.
Konwent, a two-time Wisconsin Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, was placed on the East roster.
The all-star game will follow the PGF 18U Premier National Championship and will air live on ESPNU at 9:30 pm CT.
The "East vs. West" format features 36 of the best 2016 high school graduates in the country who have signed Letters of Intent to major college programs in conferences such as the Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC.
Konwent is ranked No. 19 in the nation on FloSoftball's top 100 and was a 2015 FloSoftball First Team All-American. The 2016 PGF Regional All-American maintained a 3.60 GPA, while also serving as a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and volunteering locally as a youth softball coach.
The Salem, Wisconsin, native led the Wetosha Central Falcons to a 23-4 record and a berth in the Division I, Section 5 Tournament semifinals. Konwent held a .529 batting average with six home runs and 32 RBI in 27 games this season.
The 5-foot-10 catcher drew 45 walks in 99 plate appearances. A two-time WIAA Division I Player of the Year, Konwent also logged six doubles and scored 25 runs. She entered the semifinals with a .747 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
