Softball’s doubleheader moved to Saturday at 1 p.m.

Wisconsin set to host Illinois State

MADISON, Wis. – Due to an inclement weather forecast, the Wisconsin softball team has moved its doubleheader, originally scheduled for Sunday, to Saturday at 1 p.m. at Goodman Diamond. Admission is free for both games.

Wisconsin returns two-time first-team All-Big Ten conference selection Kelsey Jenkins, who led the Badgers in eight separate categories in 2016: batting average (.409), on-base percentage (.568), runs scored (49), hits (61), home runs (7), walks (49), stolen bases (15) and steal attempts (21). Her 49 runs were the second-most in a single season in program history.

The junior picked up her first NFCA Great Lakes All-Region honor along with senior Chloe Miller as the two were placed on the all-region second team. Miller returns for her final season after leading the team with a program single-season record of 51 RBI and 13 multiple RBI games. Miller finished the season with a team-leading .603 slugging percentage and a .358 batting average.
