BADGERS TAKE TO BIG TEN ROAD
No. 3 Wisconsin (10-1, 2-0 B1G) takes its first Big Ten road trip of the season, traveling to No. 14 Purdue and Indiana. The Badgers and Boilermakers (11-2, 1-1) serve off on Friday at 7 p.m. from Holloway Gym in West Lafayette, Indiana, live on the Big Ten Network. On Saturday, Wisconsin and Indiana challenge at 5 p.m. from University Gym in Bloomington, Indiana.Â

QUICK NOTES
- Wisconsin opened the Big Ten season 2-0 for the first time since 2013. The Badgers swept No. 17 Ohio State and Maryland at home opening weekend.
- UW puts its 14-match Big Ten winning streak on the line this weekend. The Badgers have not lost a conference match since falling at then-No. 11 Minnesota on Oct. 17, 2015. Â
- The Badgers are 5-1 against AVCA Top-25 teams this season after sweeping No. 17 Ohio State last Friday. UW has also defeated then-No. 6 Hawaii, then-No. 18 San Diego, then-No. 16 Texas A&M, and then-No. 2 Texas with its only loss coming at then-No. 11 North Carolina.
- Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with 3.39 blocks per set and 16.26 digs per set. Sophomore Tionna Williams ranks third in the conference with 1.76 blocks per set while senior Haleigh Nelson is fourth with 1.45 blocks per set. Junior Kelli Bates ranks fifth in digs per set with 4.08 while senior Lauren Carlini is 15th with 3.00 saves per set.
- The Badgers turned up their serving last weekend, averaging 2.00 aces per set. Junior Kelli Bates had a career-high four service aces against Ohio State on Friday while senior Lauren Carlini tied her career best with four service aces—all consecutive in the first set—against Maryland on Saturday.
- UW recorded its second sell-out of the 2016 season last Friday against Ohio State. The Badgers have drawn more than 5,700 fans every match this year, averaging a school-record 5,907 fans per match. Â
- Sophomore Tionna Williams was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 2.00 blocks per set on the weekend, including tying her career high with eight blocks against Ohio State last Friday. She has been named the B1G Defensive POW three of five weeks this season.
BADGERS REMAIN THIRD IN NATIONAL POLL
The Badgers remain third in the AVCA Top-25 Coaches' poll released Sept. 26.
    Nebraska (11-0) has been ranked first in the poll all season long, earning all 64 first-place votes. Minnesota (10-1) remains second while Texas (10-2) moves up to fourth. Florida (12-1) takes over the fifth place.
    The Big Ten has a total of nine teams in this week's poll. In addition to the top-three teams, Purdue (11-2) falls four spots to 14th while Penn State (10-3) moves up two places to 16th. Michigan State (12-2) also moves up to positions to 18th with Ohio State (10-4) falling two to 19th. Michigan (12-2) remains 22nd while Illinois (9-4) moves back in to the poll at 24th after receiving votes last week.

BIG TEN WIN STREAK AT 14
UW has won 14-straight Big Ten matches dating back to Oct. 17, 2015, when it lost at then-No. 11 Minnesota. The Badgers have also won 13 straight home matches dating back to the 2015 season.
    Wisconsin has won nine straight Big Ten home matches, losing to then-No. 11 Minnesota on Oct. 14, 2015.
TOUGH DEFENSE
Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with 3.39 blocks per set and 16.26 digs per set. UW has held nine of 11 opponents this season to a hitting percentage under .200, including four foes under .100. The Badgers have outdug 10-of-11 opponents this season while tying one foe. UW is averaging more than 2.0 digs per set more than their foes (16.32 - 14.05). Wisconsin is also out blocking opponents 129.0–88.5 (3.39/set to 2.33/set) on the season, recording more blocks than eight foes.

SERVICE PLEASE
The Badgers turned up their serving last weekend, averaging 2.00 aces per set. Wisconsin had seven aces in only three sets against Ohio State last Friday while adding five aces against Maryland on Saturday.
    Junior
Kelli Bates had a career-high four service aces against Ohio State on Friday while senior
Lauren Carlini tied her career best with four service aces—consecutively in the first set—against Maryland on Saturday.
    In conference-only matches, Wisconsin ranks second in the Big Ten while Bates ranks second individually with 0.83 aces per set and Carlini is third with 0.67 per set.
In all matches, Wisconsin averages 1.16 service aces per set.
    On the season, Carlini has a team-best 10 service aces (0.26/set) while
Haleigh Nelson adds nine scores (0.24/set). Bates chips in eight aces (0.21/set).

WILLIAMS EARNS DEFENSIVE HONOR, AGAIN
Sophomore
Tionna Williams picked up her third Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor this season on Monday. She led the Badger defense on the weekend, averaging 2.00 blocks per set.
    The 6-2 middle blocker shared match-high honors with a career-high tying eight blocks against Ohio State. She also added four blocks against Maryland.
    The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native is a five-time defensive player of the week for her career.
    On the season, Williams leads the Badgers and ranks third in the Big Ten with 1.76 blocks per set. She ranks second on the team with a .326 hitting percentage and ranks fifth with 2.11 kills per set.
Williams has recorded four-or-more blocks in all 11 matches this season.
ATTENDANCE SKYROCKETS
For the first time in program history, the Badgers sold more than 3,000 season tickets! UW sold 3,279 season tickets for 2016, an increase of 1,170 from 2015. Even after adding two new reserved seat sections, Wisconsin sold out more than 1,800 reserved seats and nearly 1,500 general admission seats.
    The Badgers have two sell outs this season to average 5,907 fans per match, which ranks third nationally. Nebraska leads the nation with 8,189 per match while Hawaii ranks second at 6,559 per match. UW's mark would set a school record for attendance average, breaking the current mark of 5,050 fans per match set in 2007.
BADGERS RANK SECOND IN BLOCKS PER SET NATIONALLY
Wisconsin ranks second nationally in blocks per set, averaging 3.39. UW is also eighth in opponent hitting percentage (.133) and eighth in win/loss percentage (.909).
    Sophomore
Tionna Williams ranks fourth nationally with 1.76 blocks per set. Senior
Lauren Carlini ranks 10th in the nation with 11.45 assists per set. Senior
Haleigh Nelson is 21st nationally with 1.45 blocks per set. She is also 79th with a .356 hitting percentage. Freshman
Molly Haggerty comes in 91st in kills per set with 3.71. She is also 97th in points per set (4.17). Â
As a team, Wisconsin also ranks 25th in assists per set (13.16); 41st in digs per set (16.32), 47th in kills per set (13.87) and 57th in hitting percentage (.250).Â

SHEFFIELD COUNTING DOWN TO 100 WINS
Head coach
Kelly Sheffield is in his fourth season on the Badger bench. He is 95-21 (.819) at Wisconsin and should win No. 100 at UW this season. He could become the fastest coach to reach 100 wins at Wisconsin. Former head coach Pete Waite won 100 matches 24 contests into his fourth season.  Sheffield is also 368-133 (.735) in his 16th year as a head coach.
    The Badgers have advanced to at least the NCAA Sweet 16 all three years under Sheffield, including a championship match appearance in 2013. Sheffield's Badgers have earned 11 All-America honors while six have earned All-Big Ten awards.
CARLINI HAS ALL-AROUND GAME
Senior
Lauren Carlini had an incredible all-around weekend, averaging 10.33 assists, 1.17 kills, 0.67 service aces, 3.50 digs and 1.00 blocks per set while hitting .400. The 6-2 setter recorded a school-record 63rd career double-double against Ohio State with 30 assists and 14 digs. Carlini tied career high with four service aces—all in a row in the first set—against Maryland while tying her season high with five kills against the Terrapins.
    On the season, she ranks second in the Big Ten with 11.45 assists per set. She is also second on the UW team with 3.00 digs per set and third with 0.95 blocks per set.
NELSON GETS HITTING ON TRACK
Senior
Haleigh Nelson got her offense on track last weekend, hitting .483, including leading the team at .529 against Maryland while recording a match-high 11 kills. The 6-4 middle blocker averaged 2.83 kills per set through the two matches, while adding 1.83 blocks per set. She led all players with five blocks against Maryland while adding six blocks against Ohio State.
    On the season, Nelson leads the Badgers and ranks 11th in the Big Ten with a .356 hitting percentage. She also ranks fourth in blocks per set with 1.45.
BADGERS LEAD THE BIG TEN
As a team, Wisconsin leads the Big Ten in digs per set (16.16) and blocks per set (3.39). The Badgers are also second in opponent hitting percentage (.133), and fifth in assists per set (13.13). Â

- Senior Haleigh Nelson surpassed 900 career kills against the Buckeyes. She has 915 kills in her fourth season.
- Redshirt senior Romana Krišková went over 1,200 kills for her career against Ohio State. She has 1,212 kills in her career.Â

HAVING BEST SEASONS OF THEIR CAREERS
Seven Badgers are having the best seasons of their careers.
- Junior Kelli Bates is averaging a season-best 4.08 digs per set and 0.21 service aces per set. She also has a season-best 0.55 assists per set.
- Senior Tori Blake is averaging a season-best 1.12 blocks per set.
- Senior Lauren Carlini is averaging a season-best 0.95 blocks per set.
- Junior Lauryn Gillis is averaging season bests of 3.44 kills, 2.24 digs and 0.56 blocks per set.
- Sophomore Amber MacDonald is averaging a season-best 0.13 service aces per set.
- Senior Haleigh Nelson is averaging a season-best 1.45 blocks and 0.87 digs per set.
- Sophomore Tionna Williams is averaging a season-best 1.76 blocks per set.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
#14 Purdue
The 14th-ranked Boilermakers enter the weekend 11-2 overall, including wins over No. 9 Stanford and No. 4 Kansas during non-conference play. Purdue went 1-1 in the first weekend of Big Ten Conference play, falling in five sets to Illinois on Wednesday before sweeping Indiana on Saturday.
   Purdue ranks sixth in the Big Ten with a .282 hitting percentage (684-247-1552), led offensively by 6-4 junior middle blocker Danielle Cuttino with 189 kills (3.86/set). Azariah Stahl, a 6-0 junior outside hitter, adds 3.20 kills per set, while 6-1 redshirt senior middle blocker Faye Adelaja adds 2.41 per set and a team-high .474 hitting percentage.
   Ashley Evans, a 6-2 redshirt junior setter, leads the team with 541 assists (11.04/set), ranking fifth in the conference, in addition to her team-high 16 service aces.
   Natalie Haben, a 5-9 rookie defensive specialist, contributes 168 digs (3.43/set), while Stahl adds 123 (2.51/set) digs and Evans adds 2.20 digs per set.
   Blake Mohler, a 6-2 redshirt freshman middle blocker, leads the defense with 52 blocks (1.08/set), while Cuttino and 6-5 redshirt sophomore outside hitter Sherridan Atkinson each contribute 33 (0.67/set) blocks each.

Wisconsin leads 43-31
In West Lafayette: Purdue leads 18-17
In 2015: The Badgers won both matches 3-0 last season.
Indiana
The Hoosiers split their Big Ten opening weekend, beating Northwestern 3-1, then falling in three sets at Purdue. After starting the season with nine consecutive wins, IU holds a 12-3 season record.
   Indiana ranks second in the conference with its 106 service aces, averaging 2.00 per set. Taylor Lebo, a 5-9 senior defensive specialist, has recorded 22 aces, while 6-0 senior outside hitter Allison Hammond and 5-10 senior setter Megan Tallman have 20 and 18 aces, respectively.
   The Hoosiers have a .299 (733-262-1602) hitting percentage, the third-best in the Big Ten. Hammond records 188 kills (4.09/set), the third-most in the conference, while 6-2 redshirt freshman outside hitter Kendall Beerman adds 126 (2.86/set) kills and 6-3 sophomore right side hitter Elizabeth Asdell contributes 101 (1.91/set).
   Tallman leads Indiana with 536 assists (10.72/set), adding 67 digs. Lebo has recorded 199 digs (3.75/set), while 5-6 sophomore defensive specialist Samantha Fogg adds 73 digs (1.38/set) and seven aces.
   The Hoosiers average 1.91 blocks per set, led by 6-2 senior middle blocker Jazzmine McDonald with 14 (0.87/set) blocks.
