New Jersey native Markham will join UW next fall
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Women's tennis team's recruiting class for the 2018 season is beginning to take shape.
The program announced on Friday that Ava Markham, a native of Demarest, New Jersey, will be joining the Badgers and is set to compete in the Fall of 2018.
Markham, daughter of Nina and Dan, is a Five Star Recruit and ranks No. 66 nationally according to tennisrecruiting.net. She currently holds a 44-24 record on the USTA junior tennis circuit during 2017.
A 5-foot-8 right-hander, Markham is a senior at Northern Valley Regional High School and currently trains at Courtsense Tennis Training Center in Tenafly, N.J. with coach Greg Bolitsky.
