MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team returns home to take on Texas Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. CT in the Kohl Center. The two teams will be meeting for the first time in program history.

1. LOOKING BACK: The Wisconsin women's basketball team snapped its three-game winning streak as it fell 88-65 at Marquette on Monday night at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles outscored the Badgers 34-12 in the second quarter, shooting 75 percent (12-of-16) in the period.

2. SCOUTING THE VAQUEROS: UTRGV is off to a hot start with an 8-2 record, including two recent wins over UTSA (70-58) and UMass (67-59). Its only two losses of the season came at the hands of Oklahoma State (80-38) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (71-41). The Vaqueros are in the midst of a tough stretch, facing North Dakota State on Tuesday night before traveling to Madison for Wednesday night's matchup.

3. KEEP AN EYE ON JOHNSON: Sophomore Megan Johnson powered UTRGV to its 70-58 victory, rallying back from a 17-point deficit. She had a career-high 31 points and outscored UTSA 23-17 on her own in the second half. She averages 8.1 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.

4. NICE, NIYA: Freshman Niya Beverley scored a career-high 14 points against the Golden Eagles, leading the Badgers in scoring for the first time in her career. She also had a team-high five assists in the game, marking the seventh time she led the team in dishes this season.

5. LaSHOOTski: Sophomore Abby Laszewski added 12 points at Marquette, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. She now ranks third in the Big Ten conference with a stellar .642 field-goal percentage. She is averaging 8.8 points per game in an average of 20.8 minutes per game.
