Hahn records even par to lead UW
BALTIMORE -- A solid day from all five Badgers in the lineup put the Wisconsin men's golf team in sixth place following the first round of the Big Ten Championships at the Baltimore Country Club.
Â
"I was really pleased with today because this golf course is extremely difficult," UW head coach Michael Burcin said. "All the guys had a really good attitude throughout the day and competed hard. We avoided having a bad stretch of holes so I thought everybody did their job."
Â
Sophomore Jordan Hahn fired the Badgers' best round of the day with an even par-70 to sit in a tie for ninth.
Â
After recording a 2-over 72, freshman Nick Robinson enters the second round tied for 23rd while both freshman Pete Kuhl and junior Eddie Wajda finished one stroke back to be knotted in a tie for 28th.
Â
At 5-over, senior Ben Skogen sits in a tie for 43rd.
Â
In team standings, Illinois secured a large lead at 11-under. Ohio State (+3), Purdue (+4), Northwestern (+6), and Penn State (+7) rounded out the top-five. The Badgers (+8) hold a three-stroke lead over Indiana and Minnesota (+11).
Â
The Badgers are set to tee off the second round at 8 a.m. (CT). Live scoring can be found on GolfStatResults.com.Â
