MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team drew the No. 6 seed in the 2017 Big Ten Softball Tournament and will face 11th-seeded Iowa in the opening round, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The Badgers will take on the Hawkeyes on Thursday night at 6 p.m. (CT). The game will air live on Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Jennie Ritter on the call.
Wisconsin won the regular season series against Iowa, 2-1, highlighted by an 8-1 win and a 6-5 walk-off victory in extra innings. UW trails the all-time series with the Hawkeyes, 36-19, but UW holds a 12-8 advantage since head coach Yvette Healy took the reins at Wisconsin.
The 12-team, single-elimination tournament begins Thursday with first-round games and continues through Sunday night's championship game.
