Dodridge claims Chowder Fest singles championship

Dodridge and Carranza also claim doubles trophy
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Wisconsin had quite a successful outing at the Harvard Chowder Fest to start the fall season. The Badger senior Josef Dodridge was named the tournament singles champion, while also helping fellow senior Chema Carranza take home the hardware in the doubles category.
Dodridge finished off an incredible weekend with another day of top-notch play. The senior capped off a 3-0 weekend on Sunday with a win over Notre Dame's Guillermo Ciamarra, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, coming behind from a down a set.
Dodridge's impact was also felt in doubles play where he and Carranza won the doubles championship after the two knocked off Harvard's Kenny Tao and Lucas Koelle, 8-3. Carranza also teamed up with freshman Martim Vilela to earned a win over a Notre Dame duo, 6-3. Dodridge paired up with sophomore Daniel Soyfer to beat a Harvard pair, 7-5.
Wisconsin earned a 4-0 doubles record and a 5-5 singles mark in Sunday's play.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Taking the courts for the first time since last season's breakout campaign, the Badgers did not disappoint in the 2017-18 fall season debut. Wisconsin found success up and down the lineup at the Harvey Chowder Fest in Cambridge, Massachusetts, tallying a 7-3 singles record along with a 4-1 mark in doubles.
Wisconsin's ranked duo of seniors Lamar Remy and Josef Dodridge each earned wins in the opening day of the tournament. Remy, ranked No. 115, fought hard to a three-set win over Harvard's Hean Thirouin, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5, in the top flight. Dodridge, who is No. 92 in the preseason ITA rankings, also fought back from down a set to beat a Harvard player, Kenny Tao, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, in Flight 2.
The Badgers picked up right where they left off a year ago in doubles play. The Cardinal and White earned an impressive 4-1 record in day one of doubles play. Last year's No. 1 doubles pair, senior Chema Carranza and Dodridge, teamed up to beat Harvard's Thirouin and Tao, 8-1.
Remy paired up in the doubles flight with junior Osgar O'Hoisin to pick up their first win of the fall season, 8-5, over Notre Dame's Grayson Broadus and Ryan Kempin.
