Five things to know: Michigan and Michigan State

Challenges await the Badgers as they head to Ann Arbor and East Lansing
MADISON, Wis.- This weekend arguably marks the most difficult weekend yet for No. 21 Wisconsin wrestling as it will have two conference duals in one weekend, making stops in Ann Arbor and East Lansing to face No. 8 Michigan and Michigan State. The squad starts this Friday against the Wolverines (5-2, 2-1) at 6 p.m. (CT) at the Cliff Keen Arena. The dual will be shown on BTN Plus with stats available through Trackwrestling. The second dual against the Spartans (4-5, 0-3) will be on Sunday at 12 p.m. inside Jenison Field House and will also be streamed on BTN Plus.
1. LAST TIME ON THE MAT: The Badgers were last in action less than a week ago, suffering a close loss against the then No. 25 Northwestern Wildcats. After being down 15-2 at the intermission, they were able to take the last four of five matches, but fell in a close 18-14 final.
2. WICK VS. MASSA PT 3: The dual against No. 8 Michigan will showcase a top-10 rematch that is sure to bring national attention. Sixth-ranked Evan Wick will face Michigan's fifth-ranked Logan Massa for the third time this season at 165 pounds, with both wrestlers taking a victory. Massa took the first victory defeating Evan in a 11-3 major decison at the MSU Open, while Wick took the second meeting at the Cliff Keen Invitational in an 8-4 decision.
3. ABOUNADER AND ROBERTSON ROUND TWO:The other top-10 showcase rematch will feature ninth-ranked Ricky Robertson against fifth-ranked Dominic Abounader at 184 pounds. Abounader took the victory in their first meeting at the Cliff Keen Invitational, winning by a 8-0 major decision.
4. TALE OF THE TAPE: In both of the weekends' upcoming duals, the Badgers will be facing the Wolverines and Spartans, who both are coming off of loses. The Wolverines are also coming off of their first loss of the season, falling to No. 1 Penn State 25-12. Michigan State has been having a difficult stretch, dropping its last four duals by a combined score of 156-18.
5. LOOKING TO COME HOME STRONG: After this weekend, UW will only have one more away meet when it faces Illinois on Feb. 11. They will be at home to face Jan. 26 to face Indiana, Feb. 9 against No. 18 Nebraska, Feb. 16 against No. 16 Rutgers and will round out the regular season two days later when Purdue makes a visit.
