Badgers rally, but fall in close contest at Rutgers

Davison and Pritzl score a team-high 13 points each in loss

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Brad Davison and Brevin Pritzl scored a team-high 13 points each, but Wisconsin was unable to complete its comeback bid and ultimately fell, 64-60, against Rutgers at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Friday night.

The Badgers (9-8, 2-2 Big Ten) nearly went the entire night without a 3-point basket, until Davison hit a triple and tied the game up at 53-53 with 2:03 remaining. The Scarlet Knights (11-6, 1-3) were able to pull away and clinch the home victory, however, led by a game-high 23 points from Corey Sanders.

After a slow first happ, Ethan Happ finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds to record his sixth double-double of the season. Freshman Nate Reuvers made his second straight start and tallied 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks in 23 minutes.

Up next, Wisconsin travels to face Nebraska on Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. (CT) in Lincoln, Nebraska.
