Badgers rocket up to No. 3 in USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll

UW finished runner up at Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational last Friday
MADISON, Wis. – After a fantastic performance at home at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour, the Wisconsin men's cross country was rewarded with a No. 3 ranking in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches' Poll on Tuesday.
The Badgers, led by Morgan McDonald's individual victory, moved up six spots from No. 9 to No. 3, their best ranking since they were No. 1 for five weeks in 2012.
The UW men are joined by the Badger women in the top 10 of the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll as the Wisconsin women are ranked No. 8 after their sixth-place showing at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational thanks to Alicia Monson's individual crown.
Wisconsin is one of only four schools to have both cross country programs ranked in the top 10 of the coaches' poll and is the only Big Ten Conference school to accomplish the feat.
Both Badger teams are ranked No. 1 in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Regional Rankings that were announced on Monday.
The Badgers host the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country
