MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin (6-4-2, 3-1 B1G) hosts in-state rival UW-Green Bay (5-4-2, 2-2-1 Horizon League) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (CT) before traveling to State College to play Penn State (2-6-2, 1-2-2 B1G) on Sunday at noon.

1. BIG TEN BLISS: The Badgers are on a roll, thanks in large part to a scintillating sheet of performances in the Big Ten conference. Wisconsin is 3-1 on the season in conference play holding victories over perennial powerhouse Maryland, then-no. 5 Michigan State, and most recently Rutgers. The Badgers convinced a home crowd of their seriousness in chasing another Big Ten title by walloping the Scarlet Knights, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon. In fact, the only loss the Badgers have suffered in the Big Ten has come at the hands of the outrageously talented No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers by a score of 3-1.

2. PHENOMENAL FIRSTS:  It was a day of joy at the McClimon Complex as the Badgers took on the Scarlet Knights, but it was also a day of firsts. It was freshman Noah Melick who took the cake for the most first though. The young guy got his first career start in Cardinal and White on Sunday, scored his first career goal (before finding the net again in the match), and tallied his first career assist. Junior Robin Olofsson got in on the action, scoring his first career goal as a Badger. Junior Duncan Storey and sophomore Patrick Yim each both picked up their first career assists in a Wisconsin kit.

3. SCOUTING THE PHOENIX: Green Bay checks in just above the .500 mark before Wednesday match at McCLimon. The Phoenix are 5-4-2 overall and hold a 2-2-1 record in the Horizon League. UWGB exacted the trifecta against Illinois schools, beating Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, and Eastern Illinois to kick of their season. The Phoenix have seen some familiar foes to the Badgers, tying Hartford 1-1 (a team UW beat 2-0) and Marquette 1-1 (a team UW beat 1-0), as well as losing to Milwaukee 1-0 (a team UW tied 1-1).

4. SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS: After Wednesday's match at home, the Badgers will turn their gaze towards the Big Ten season yet again as they travel to University Park to play the ever-challenging Nitanny Lions. The Nittany Lions hold a 2-6-2 overall record and 1-2-2 record in the Big Ten, but seven of those matches have been decided by a goal or less. In the Big Ten alone, the Nittany Lions have exhibited that they can certainly hold their own, while some might even contend they could beat the nation's most elite. PSU tied then-No. 21 Michigan, 1-1 in double overtime, lost by a single goal to then-No.5 Michigan State, and put up a great fight to Indiana in a 2-0 defeat. The Nittany Lions beat Ohio State 3-1 and tied Northwestern 0-0 in their two other conference affairs.
