Medinah, Ill. – Senior
Jessica Reinecke turned in her best performance of the season, just one stroke off a career low, shooting a 54-hole total of 213 (-3) to earn a share of 13
th place at the Illini Women's Invitational held at the Medinah Country Club.
Led by Reinecke's 69, the Badgers turned in their best round of the tournament and sixth-best of the day, shooting a 287. That moved them up three places on the leaderboard and into a tie for 10th place.
The Badgers received another solid performance from senior
Aya Johnson, who finished in a T-20
th after shooting a 215 (-1).
Reinecke (69) and Johnson's (71) impressive third rounds helped the Badgers tie their season low round as a team (287).
As a team, Wisconsin finished the week with a score of 871 (+7).
Thoughts from Coach Oehrlien:
"I'm happy with our final round today. It was good to see some under par rounds and it was good to move up on the leaderboard. Overall, we played well in stretches but still have things we need to improve on moving forward."
Up Next: The Badgers will head to Simpsonville, Ky., for the Cardinal Cup, Oct. 20-21.
