MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin volleyball team earned the No. 6 seed in the 2018 NCAA tournament and will host first and second round matches at the UW Field House this week. The first round on Thursday features a 5 p.m. match between Northern Iowa (24-9) and Pepperdine (21-8) before the Badgers (22-6) take on Green Bay (20-10) at 7:30 p.m. The winners of the first-round matches will face off in the second round on Friday at 7 p.m.

1. WE LIKE TO DANCE: For the sixth-straight season and for the 22nd time in program history, the Badgers earned a bid to the NCAA tournament. Wisconsin holds a 43-21 (.672) all-time record in the program's 21 NCAA tournament appearances. UW is 15-5 under Sheffield in the NCAA tournament, advancing to at least the Sweet 16 round of play the last five seasons. 
 
2. COMING IN HOT: After sweeping Rutgers and taking down No. 7 Penn State in five sets last weekend, the Badgers enter the tournament on a season-best, six-match win streak.
 
3. RAISING THE BAR: Three Badgers recorded career highs in Saturday's win over PSU. Junior Madison Duello crushed her personal best with 24 kills. Sophomore Dana Rettke's defense was off the charts allowing her to record a career-best 11 blocks and nine digs while just missing a triple double after adding 14 kills. Fellow sophomore Sydney Hilley surpassed the 60-assists mark after successfully distributing the ball 61 times on Saturday.
 
4. TICKETS PLEASE: All-session tickets for NCAA First and Second Round matches are on-sale now. Single-session tickets go on-sale beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Tickets may be purchased in-person at the Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office (Gate 1, Camp Randall Stadium), over-the-phone by calling 1-800-GO-BADGERS or 608-262-1440, or online at UWBadgers.com.  Additionally, tickets will be sold at Gate C day of match.
 
5. SCOUTING GREEN BAY: The Horizon League regular season and tournament champions are 20-10 overall and 13-3 in conference play. Green Bay is appearing in its first NCAA Tournament since 2003. The Badgers are a perfect 9-0 against the Phoenix with the teams last meeting in 2010. Sophomore Taylor Wolf, the Horizon League Player of the Year, leads the Green Bay offense with 4.62 kills per set and also contributes 3.15 digs per set as a six-rotation player. Senior libero Vanessa Buman earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year honors, averaging 5.40 digs per set.
