Straight from the Court Head coach Jonathan Tsipis
On tonight's win
"With the team collectively, we had to make some adjustments on the fly with Winthrop (and) not knowing who they would play. I thought the upperclassmen helped the younger players settle in.

"The first half was good from a defensive standpoint but have to do that for two halves – no matter who is on the floor, no matter who we're playing.

"We talked at halftime of no more offensive rebounds, keep them off the glass. Winthrop didn't have an offensive rebound in the second half. We're glad to get the win."

Junior forward Courtney Fredrickson
On the fast pace of the game:
"I like it. Especially this year, we have a lot of threats and a lot of people who can play a lot of positions. That puts a lot of pressure on the other team's defense. We have shooters on the wings and we have Marsha and Abby in post running down the middle so they have to really sprint back and get to each one of us. We have a lot of threats that can score."
