Wisconsin falls in day two, 4-0
MADISON, Wis. – Fighting hard for the doubles point, Wisconsin ultimately came up short Saturday evening, losing the doubles point before going on to a 4-0 defeat.

Wisconsin women's tennis matched up against No. 21 Wake Forest, unranked in ITA's, and was defeated in straight sets in all finished singles matches.

With a pumped up crowd behind them, the Badgers nearly struck first in doubles play, with the sophomore duo of Michelle Linden and Christina Zordani finishing first with a 6-4 victory.Â

No. 1 doubles fell for Wisconsin as the 34th-ranked doubles pair of Eliza Omirou and Anna Ulyaschenko knocked off senior Kelsey Grambeau and freshman MaryAnn Rompf, 6-2.

Securing the doubles point for Wake Forest was the 22nd-ranked pair of Emma Davis and Chandler Carter, winning a hard fought, energetic match against senior Sara Castellano and sophomore Melissa Pick.

Saturday brought a test for Wisconsin's freshmen. Lexi Keberle and Rompf were slotted in the one and two singles positions and both matched up against ranked opponents.Â

Keberle was opposite the net of No. 77 Davis, who took the West Bend, Wisconsin native down, 6-3, 6-1.

Rompf was against No. 80Â Omirou, who defeated the freshman in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.

Up next:Â The Badgers return once again to Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. (CT) to face off against the winner of Auburn vs. Michigan. It will be UW's final match of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
