MADISON, Wis.-On a day to celebrate the collegiate careers of seven young men, No. 18 Wisconsin wrestling (7-5, 4-5 Big Ten) was in the UW Field House one last time, falling to Purdue (9-7, 3-6), 25-15 in the regular season finale. 

"It's not over yet," Head Coach Barry Davis said about the regular season coming to a close. "Even though today was the last regular season dual, we still have Big Tens and the NCAA's yet. For the guys, we have to step it up, turn it up a notch and give that final push into the postseason. We'll make adjustments and make sure when the conference championships come around in just a couple weeks, our guys will win those close decisions."

Evan Wick got back into the win column, tallying a fall against NCAA qualifier Jacob Morrissey in just 1:07. The freshman was able to take down his opponent before locking in a cradle to get both of Morrissey's shoulders on the mat.

In his final competition in the UW Field House, senior Ricky Robertson shined,got back on track by tallying five takedowns and a reversal in a 13-5 major decision over Purdue's Max Lyon.

The other source of team points came from Sophomore Cole Martin, who was on an offensive frenzy. Martin took down Purdue's Austin Nash twice. In addition, Martin got two, two-point near-falls and a four-point near fall in a seven minute, 15-0 tech fall.

The Badgers will now have two weeks to rest up and prepare as tournament season nears. The Big Ten Championships will take place in East Lansing, Michigan on March 3 and 4, with the NCAA Championships occurring just two weeks later in Cleveland, Ohio from March 15-17.
