MADISON, Wis. (AP) —Â
Brad Davison scored a career-high 30 points and Wisconsin gave No. 2 Michigan State a spirited fight, but the Spartans were able to pull away late and earn a 68-63 win at the Kohl Center on Sunday.
Davison became the first Wisconsin freshman to record a 30-point game since Sam Okey (30 points) did so against Milwaukee in 1996.
For Michigan State, Cassius Winston scored 20 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from 3-point range, including two 3s during an 11-2 run by MSU in the second half.
Before and after the game, the Badgers celebrated Senior Day and recognized
Matt Ferris,
Aaron Moesch and
T.J. Schlundt.
Up next, Wisconsin will compete in the Big Ten tournament as the No. 9 seed and face Maryland on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
