MADISON, Wis. –
On Thursday, the Wisconsin men's soccer team announced its 2018 schedule. After a thrilling Big Ten Tournament win last season, the upcoming season is primed to be just as exciting with six games against 2017 NCAA tournament teams and 10 contests to be played at the McClimon Complex.

"We are extremely excited about the 2018 schedule which includes a great group of non-conference games along with our Big Ten action," head coach John Trask said. "We will be officially starting a four-team tournament with our partner Big Ten school, Northwestern University, on Labor Day weekend against Fordham and Valparaiso after opening up our home schedule with the University of Hartford. We begin Big Ten home action against perennial powerhouse Indiana. Other big games at McClimon will include in-state rivals UW-Milwaukee and Green Bay as well as Rutgers, Michigan and Ohio State."

The Badgers begin their season with two exhibition games, including a matchup with 2017 NCAA tournament team Illinois-Chicago. Wisconsin beat UIC 4-1 in first round of the tournament. Both of UW's exhibition games will be played at home.

The season officially begins on Aug. 24 with a road trip to Arizona to play Grand Canyon University. The Badgers are scheduled to host eight regular-season games, including Big Ten home matches with 2017 NCAA runner-up Indiana (Sept. 16), Rutgers (Oct. 7), Michigan (Oct. 19) and Ohio State (Oct. 28).

The Badgers will host a tournament at McClimon from Sept. 1-3, opening the action with Fordham on Sept. 1 and then will play Valparaiso on Sept. 3. Northwestern will play Valparaiso on Sept. 1 and then Fordham on Sept. 3.

Wisconsin looks to defend their Big Ten Tournament title starting Sunday, Nov. 4 with the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. The semifinals are slated for Friday, Nov. 9 with the championship game to follow on Sunday, Nov. 11.

"This schedule will test our team and provide a great opportunity to watch some elite teams here in Madison," Trask added.

Fans can follow the men's soccer team throughout the 2018 season on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and UWBadgers.com, as well as catch the Badgers live at any of their 10 home games.
