Women’s track and field team competes in first road meet of the year
IOWA CITY, Iowa  – The Wisconsin women's track and field team began its weekend in Iowa City at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational on Friday night.Â
Meagan Blair took fourth in the event with a PR long jump of 19-9 (6.03 meters). Mary Bartelson's day continued her day with an eighth place finish with a jump of 18-7 (5.67 meters). Rounding out the top ten was freshman, Armoni Brown, with a long jump of 18-6 (5.64 meters).

In the high jump event, Mariah Hoeppner took 13th place with a jump of 5-7 (1.70 meters). Finishing behind Hoeppner was Jordan Hirsbrunner in 15th place with a high jump of 5-5 (1.65 meters).Â

Banke Oginni, the reigning Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week, was impressive once again in the weight throw, finishing fifth with a throw of 69-1 (21.07 meters). Hanna Barton finished in 15th place in the event with a throw of 55-7 (16.94 meters).

Two Badgers finished in the top five in the pole vault. Hailey Orlowski and Rayce Albino finished in fourth and fifth respectively, each finishing with jumps of 12-5 (3.80 meters).

In the premier section of the 200 meters, Ebony McClendon and Gabby DesRosiers finished in the top ten. McClendon took sixth in the event, running it in a solid 24.56 seconds while DesRosiers took ninth place with a time of 24.68.

In the 600 meter dash, Morgan Parzych took fourth place with a time of 1:34.16. Following behind Parzych was freshman, Danielle Bellino, in ninth place running the event in 1:37.13 minutes.Â
The Badgers will continue their weekend in Iowa City on Saturday with the women's shot put at 11 a.m.Â
