MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin men's basketball team suffered a 59-52 setback to Minnesota on Thursday night at the Kohl Center.Ā
Ethan HappĀ led the UWĀ (10-4, 2-1 Big Ten) offense with 17 points and 8 rebounds and shot 8-of-13 from the field, while Lakeville, Minnesota native
Nate ReuversĀ added 12 points.Ā
UW trailed Minnesota (12-2, 2-1 Big Ten) 29-14 at the break before opening the second on a 12-2 run to make it a 5-point game.Ā
Later on in the second half, the Badgers cut the Golden Gophers lead to 49-47 after a
D'Mitrik Trice floater but the Golden Gophers responded with a 6-0 run to put the game out of reach.
It marked Minnesota's first win in Madison since 2009.Ā
The Badgers continue Big Ten Conference action on Sunday with a showdown at Penn State. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game can be seen live on BTN.Ā
