Game agianst Wildcats ends in a tie after being called early due to snow
MADISON, Wis. – In its final home game of the season, the Wisconsin men's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Northwestern on Senior NIght at McClimon Soccer Complex in a snowy fashion.
The Badgers (2-10-4, 0-4-3) took on the Wildcats (7-7-2, 3-3-2) in one of the final regular season Big Ten battles for the Badgers, but ended in a 0-0 draw due to unplayable conditions due to snow.
In the first half of the game both teams came out aggressive. UW and Northwestern each had five fouls. The Badgers outshot the Wildcats 4-2. After the first 45 minutes no one scored and the score was 0-0 going into halftime.
The Badger offense brought energy into the second half having some great looks just shy of the net. UW again outshot the Wildcats 3-1.
The snow persisted into the night and would end up interfering with the game. After 74 minutes of play, the game was called and would end in a 0-0 draw.
Families of the seniors, coaches, and players stuck around to honor seniors in a post-game ceremony. Those honored were student-manager, Emily Hoffman, student-coach, Dom Mesdijan, Duncan Storey, Dean Cowdroy, Robin Olofsson, Noah Leibold, and Elan Koenigs
Up Next: The Badgers will travel to Columbus, Ohio to face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes this Sunday. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. (CT). Be sure to tune in on BTN+.
