MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team will square off with ACC foes Pittsburgh and North Carolina State this weekend at the NC State host site of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Friday the Badgers will play Pitt at 9 a.m. (CT) before taking on NC State at 2 p.m. UW goes against Pitt again on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will wrap up its weekend against NC State Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

1. OKAY(LA)!: In her debut back after two years out due to injury, Kayla Konwent reached base in every game this weekend and also had four runs and eight total hits, four of which were extra-base hits.

2. TERRIFIC TJ: Sophomore Taylor Johnson had a stellar opening weekend, averaging .563 with nine hits, six RBI and a home run. The Beecher, Illinois, native was also a perfect 3-for-3 stealing bases.

3. RAINING RUNS: On the weekend, the Badgers outscored their opponents 43-9. This included four run-rule victories, two against Omaha and two against Lamar.

4. SWINGING FOR THE FENCES: At the Lonestar Collegiate Classic, Wisconsin hit seven goners while not allowing any from its opponents. Three Badgers, Melanie Cross, Kayla Konwent and Jordan Little, each went yard twice.

5. SCOUTING THE ACC:
Pitt- The Panthers went 1-4 during opening weekend at the Cougar Classic. Freshman Katlyn Pavlick led the way with six hits, two homers, five runs and two RBI.

NC State- The Wolfpack finished 3-2 at the USF Opening Weekend Invitational, downing No. 7 Arizona, 4-1, on Sunday. Junior outfielder Angie Rizzi had a team-high five hits with a home run, two runs and three RBI.
