DENVER – After a spectacular 6-0 start to the 2019 season, the Wisconsin women's tennis team suffered its first setback of the year, a 5-2 road defeat at Denver on Friday night.  

Senior Sara Castellano, ranked No. 35 in the country, continued her unstoppable campaign to the 2019 season. The senior beat Bianca Mok, ranked No. 88, in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles to improve to 7-0 in dual play.

It was freshman Ava Markham who notched the second tally on the scoreboard for the Cardinal and White. The Demarest, New Jersey, native notched a win over Denver's Camille Anderson, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5 singles.

Wisconsin wraps up its time in the Rockies with a match against DePaul on Saturday. First serve is set for 2 p.m. CT.
