MADISON, Wis. — Winners of five straight, No. 19 Wisconsin heads to Minnesota for a Border Battle on Wednesday. The Badgers have won in each of their last three trips to Williams Arena.
Up next, the Badgers will play at No. 7 Michigan on Saturday. The Badgers are 20-6 against the Wolverines since 2005, including a 64-54 win earlier this season over then-ranked No. 2 Michigan at the Kohl Center.
1. RESUME BUILDING: The Badgers checked in at No. 12 in the Feb. 4 NET rankings and No. 11 according to KenPom.com. Wisconsin is 10-5 against the KenPom Top 100 with five Quadrant 1 wins. UW has played the 10th-strongest schedule in the NCAA (per KenPom.com).
2. BORDER BATTLE:Â Wisconsin and Minnesota will be playing for the 204th time on Wednesday, making the Gophers the most-played opponent in UW history. The Badgers have won eight of the last nine meetings with Minnesota.
3. GETTING DEFENSIVE:Â During its current five-game winning streak, Wisconsin has held four of the five opponents to a season-low scoring total. Overall, the Badgers rank sixth in defensive efficiency (KenPom.com) and 10th in the NCAA allowing 61.5 ppg.
4. CHASING HISTORY:Â Senior
Ethan Happ is trying to become the first player in Big Ten history to average 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. In fact, over the last 25 years, no NCAA player has reached those marks for an entire season.
5. TAKING THE SHOW ON THE ROAD:Â Wisconsin has won six of its last seven Big Ten road games. The Badgers have amassed seven wins away from home this season (five road, two neutral), surpassing their total from last season (4).
