2019 All-Big Ten Team

MADISON, Wis.
– For the first time since 2014, the Wisconsin women's basketball team had a player named second team All-Big Ten, the conference announced on Monday.

Senior Marsha Howard earned second-team All-Big Ten honors by conference media while being named honorable mention All-Big Ten by league coaches. In addition, freshman Imani Lewis earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors by the media.

Howard earns her second-straight All-Big Ten honor after being named honorable mention all-conference in 2018. Lewis is the first Badger freshman to earn All-Big Ten honors since Jolene Anderson earned third-team honors in 2005.

Howard picked up her 1,000th career point at Ohio State on Feb. 17, becoming the 26th Badger to score 1,000 points, and is just the 15th Badger to tally 1,000 points and 600 rebounds in a career. The 6-foot forward now has 1,071 points, which ranks 23rd on the UW career record list. Howard also ranks 12th with 661 total rebounds.

On the season, she averages a team-best 14.5 points per game, which ties for 11th in the Big Ten. Howard also ranks sixth in the B1G with 8.8 rebounds per game, ranks ninth in field goal percentage at .479, and ties for eighth in steals per game (1.6). In conference-only games, Howard ranks ninth in points per game (14.9), seventh in rebounds per game (8.0), seventh in field goal percentage (.488) and fifth in steals per game (2.0).

Lewis ranks second on the Badgers with 12.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. She has scored in double figures in 21 games and has double-figure rebounds in six games. In all games, Lewis ranks third among league rookies in scoring and third in rebounding.

Lewis is the only Big Ten freshmen who ranks in the top six in eight statistical categories—points (3rd/12.2), rebounds (3rd/7.6), steals (T5th/1.1), blocks (T4th/0.8), offensive rebounds (3rd/2.8), defensive rebounds (3rd/4.8), minutes (6th/26.9) and free-throw percentage (3rd/.604).

Lewis was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Nov. 26, becoming the first Badger rookie honored since the 2012-13 season.

The Badgers (13-17, 4-14 B1G) will be the No. 13 seed in the 2019 Big Ten Tournament, taking on No. 12-seed Penn State (12-17, 5-13) on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. CT live on the Big Ten Network. The winner advances to play fifth-seeded Ohio State (14-13, 10-8) on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. CT. All games will be held at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
