BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Alicia Monson followed Friday's national championship with another top-10 showing Saturday at the NCAA indoor championships, one of two members of the Wisconsin women's track and field team to earn honorable mention All-America honors on the meet's final day.
Monson took 10th place in the 3000 meters while teammate
Banke Oginni finished 14th in the weight throw.
On the heels of her NCAA title in the 5000 meters a day earlier, Monson returned to the track Saturday and clocked a time of 9 minutes, 14.52 seconds. Monson was the Big Ten champion in the 3000 and 5000 this season.
Oginni posted a mark of 65 feet, 4 3/4 inches in the weight throw, an event in which she owns the school record at 73-3 1/4.
The Badgers will have two weeks off before opening the outdoor season March 23 at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, California.
