MADISON, Wis. — Incoming Wisconsin freshman forward Dylan Holloway, a Bragg Creek, Alberta, native, was named the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Player of the Year last Friday.

Joining former Badgers Kyle Turris (2007) and Dany Heatley (1999) as winners of the award, Holloway took home the honor by ranking second in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in scoring while skating for the Okotoks Oilers. He also helped Team Canada win gold at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup last summer.

The 6-foot-1 and 192-pound skater played for bronze with Team Canada at the 2019 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 World Championship in April, and played at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge in December, winning bronze.

Holloway, a left-handed shot, posted 41 goals and 88 points in 53 games during the regular season for Okotoks en route to being named AJHL MVP and then added 13 points in 11 playoff games.
