MADISON, Wis. -- With the 2019 NHL Draft having come and gone, the season of suffling players continues to shake up teams as three former Badgers and free agents sign new contracts.
Â
Joe Pavelski signed a new contract with the Stars for $21 million over three years as Dallas looks to be a potential contender for the Stanley Cup.
Â
Pavelski, center, spent the first 13 years of his NHL careers with the San Jose Sharks, posting 100 points in 134 career postseason games. The 34-year-old known as 'Captain America' scored 38 goals in his last season and is a four-time 30-goal scorer.
Â
One of three free agents acquired, Pavelski joins veterans Corey Perry (14 seasons, Ducks) and Andrej Sekera (2015-19, Oilers) in Dallas.
Â
Brian Elliott, 34, returns for a third season in Philadelphia, signing a one year, $2 million contract.
Â
Despite having missed 40 games due to injury and playing only 26 this past season, Elliott proved to be the best goaltender choice for the Flyers. Elliott boasted a .907 in 26 games for his 2018-19 season. He owns 38 shutouts and a 225-139-43 career record.
Elliott has played for Ottawa (2007-10), Colorado (2010-11), St. Louis (2011-16) and Calgary (2016-17) in the NHL.
Â
Ben Street, left wing, has split his time between NHL and AHL teams for years landing in New Jersey for next season. The 32-year-old forward signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000 at the NHL level and $425,000 at the AHL level.
Â
Street played with the Anaheim Ducks and served as the alternate captain for their AHL farm team last season, setting a career high of 21 goals and 44 assists for 65 points in 73 regular season games with Grand Rapids.
Â
He has posted three goals and five assists in his 56-game NHL career, tallying a career high of 21 NHL games with the Ducks. Previously, Street has played for Calgary (2012-14), Colorado (2014-15) and Detroit (2016-17).
Â
Jake Gardiner, 28, is the last former Badger still on the market.
Â
The defenseman spent his 2018-19 season in Toronto boasting three goals and 30 points in 62 games with the Leafs.
Â
As one of the best puck-moving defenseman, Gardiner has yet to be signed, but
NBC Sports predicts his next contract to hit at least $6 million.
