MADISON, Wis.— The Wisconsin women's hockey team will begin the 2020-21 season ranked No. 1 in the USCHO Division I Women's Poll, the organization announced on Monday.Â
This is the seventh time that the Badgers have started the season ranked first and the second-straight season in a row.
The team ended last season ranked No. 2. This week they received 140 points and seven first place votes. Cornell also earned seven and Northeastern had one.
Wisconsin's first half of the season features all ranked opponents with No. 4 Minnesota, No.5 Ohio State and No. 8 Minnesota Duluth.
The Badgers are set to kick off the season at No. 5 Ohio State on Nov. 27 and 28.
