MADISON, Wis. - The No.21-ranked Wisconsin men's track and field team had a record-setting weekend competing at the Husky Classic and Music City Invitational. The Badgers recorded three more personal bests on their second of competition on Saturday.
Kugel moves up
At the Husky Classic in Seattle, redshirt sophomore
Hudson Kugel ran a personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 48.94 seconds to take third-place, crushing his old PR of 1:50.49. Kugel's time moves him up to No.8 on Wisconsin's indoor all-time top 10 performance list.
Austin Rendon also ran the 800, placing 13th with a time of 1:52.80. Redshirt sophomore
Tannor Wagner also ran a personal best of 4:06.90 in the mile.
Personal-bests set in Nashville
At the Music City Challenge in Nashville, sophomore
Colin Enz ran a personal best in the 400 meters with a time of 48.25, beating his old PR by more than a second. Enz is less than a second off from being inducted into Wisconsin's indoor all-time top 10 performance list.
Sophomore
Peyton Frankenreider placed fifth in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 48-5 1/4.
Redshirt senior
Zach Lorbeck competed in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 11th with a time of 8.33, only three-tenths off of his personal-best.
Up next
The Badgers will send their distance medley relay back to Notre Dame to compete in the Alex Wilson Invitational on Feb. 22. Throwers will head to Milwaukee to compete in the Panther Tune-Up on Feb. 22. The following week the Badgers will travel to Geneva, Ohio, to compete in the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 28-29.Â
