Game Coverage
March 1 | 5:30 p.m. CT | Kohl Center | Madison, Wisconsin.
MADISON, Wis. — The Badgers look to win their sixth-straight game and earn a Border Battle victory over Minnesota Sunday night at the Kohl Center. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. (CT) on BTN.
1) TRICE IS NICE: D'Mitrik Trice played on another level in Thursday night's victory at No. 19 Michigan. The Ohio native was nearly automatic from the floor, scoring 28 points (10-for-16 FG) including 83.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc (5-for-6 3FG). Trice is shooting 39.2 percent from the field this season with a team-leading 110 assists. He also leads the Badgers with 21 steals.
2) REVENGE TOUR: It's been a February to remember so far for Wisconsin, winning six of its last seven games. Over that period, the Badgers have gotten payback on Big Ten foes who stole victories from them in the first half of the season. UW has avenged losses over Michigan State, Purdue and Rutgers, with rival Minnesota visiting Madison on Sunday.
3) BEATING THE BEST: With an 81-74 win at No. 19 Michigan on Thursday night, the Badgers registered their fifth win over a ranked opponent this season. Only Baylor (6), Iowa (6) and Oregon (6) have recorded more. Head coach
Greg Gard has now led Wisconsin to 18 wins over AP Top 25 teams, with nine of those coming away from home.
4) BIG OFF THE BENCH: Micah Potter has been electric for the Badgers since he became eligible to play for the Badgers on Dec. 21. In Big Ten play alone, the Ohio native is averaging 10.9 points per game on 55 percent shooting from the field including 48.7 percent from 3-point territory and 6.3 rebounds per game. Potter has reached double figures in nine of his 17 appearances for the Badgers, leading UW in points in three of those games.
5) SCOUTING MINNESOTA: The Gophers are just 2-8 on the road this season and just 1-4 in their past five outings. Minnesota receives consistent production from sophomore center Daniel Oturu who is averaging 20 points and 11.4 rebounds per game this season. Oturu is also a considerable defensive threat in the paint, racking up 71 blocks this season.
