MADISON, WIS. — Wisconsin has been selected as the 12th seed for the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis on March 4-8. The team will be facing 13th-seeded Illinois.

Here are five things to know before tip-off on Wednesday at 1 p.m. (CT):

1. Tourney Lookback: 13th-seeded Wisconsin faced 12th-seeded Penn State and earned the victory, 65-57. The team went on a run, taking down fifth-seeded Ohio State in the second round, 73-63. Advancing to the quarterfinals, Wisconsin took on fourth-seeded Michigan State into double overtime, ultimately falling 73-65 in the tight game.

2. Badgers by the Numbers: The team has seven players averaging five or more points per game, with Imani Lewis leading at 14.3 ppg and Abby Laszewski in second at 11.9 ppg. The pair also lead the Badgers in rebounds with Lewis averaging 8.6 pg and Laszewski 6.4 pg.

Heading to the field, Laszewski is shooting .516. Behind the arc, Suzanne Gilreath leads with .347. At the free-throw line, freshman Tara Stauffacher leads on 20 or more attempts with .840 going 21-25. Kendra Van Leeuwen leads the team in assists with an average 3.8 pg, while Laszewski leads the team in blocks at 1.6 pg. Both Van Leeuwen and freshman Sydney Hilliard average one steal per game.

3. Fighting Illini Facts: Illinois finished the Big Ten season with a 2-16 overall record. The team's two wins were earned against Minnesota (74-71) and Penn State (70-66). Wisconsin defeated Illinois on Feb. 2 in Champaign, 73-64. The Fighting Illini are led in scoring by Holesinska Petra who averages 13.4 ppg. She is followed by Kennedi Myles with 8.9 ppg and Ali Andrews with 8.6 ppg. Myles also leads in rebounds with an average of 5.4 pg.

5. Looking Ahead: The winner of Wisconsin and Illinois will play fifth-seeded Rutgers on Thursday, March 5 starting approximately 25 minutes after the conclusion of the 11 a.m. (CT) game between eighth-seeded Michigan State and ninth-seeded Purdue.
