MADISON, Wis. — The Badgers look to ride their momentum from Saturday's upset victory over No. 14 Michigan State and earn a Border Battle victory against Minnesota on Wednesday night in Minneapolis. Tip is set for 8 p.m. (CT) on BTN.
1) LEAVE IT TO REUVERS:Â
Nate Reuvers has been Mr. Reliable for the Badgers this season scoring in double figures in 18 of UW's 22 games. While averaging 13.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game, the junior forward has also emerged as an elite presence on defense with 46 blocks on the season, good for fourth-most in the Big Ten. Reuvers has 132 career blocks and needs just 23 rejections to break
Ethan Happ's school record (154).
2) ROAD WARRIORS:Â Since 2001-02, UW has racked up 110 true road wins, the top mark of any Big Ten team. UW's .531 (110-97) road win percentage during that span trails only Michigan State.
3) NET GAINS:Â Wisconsin has tallied a Big-Ten best six Quadrant 1 wins. Only three teams in the country have more. In fact, the Badgers have tallied five wins over teams in the top 25 of the NET Rankings, more than any other team in the nation.
4) BATTLE TESTED:Â Wisconsin ranks No. 32 in the NET Rankings (as of Feb. 4), which also lists UW as facing the third-toughest schedule in the nation. UW has tallied four wins over AP Top-25 opponents, beating No. 5 Ohio State, No. 14 Michigan State, No. 17 Maryland and No. 20 Penn State.
5) SCOUTING MINNESOTA: The Gophers are a 9-2 at home in Williams Arena with victories over No. 5 Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Minnesota is led by sophomore center Daniel Oturu who is averaging a double double with 19.7 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game, while also racking up 54 blocks this season.
