MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's track and field team separates and travel to three meets this weekend. Sprinters and horizontal jumps are headed to the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, on Friday-Saturday, Alicia Monson is headed to the prestigious Millrose Games in New York, New York on Saturday and UW's throws head to Ripon, Wisconsin, for the Red Hawk Invitational on Saturday. Events at the Meyo Invite begin at on Friday at 5 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Throwing events will start at 11 a.m. at the Red Hawk Invite and Alicia Monson will run the 3000 meters around 5:39 p.m. at the Millrose Games on Saturday.Â

1. LAST TIME OUT: Alicia Monson, Amy Davis and Gabby DesRosier all won events at last weekend's Indiana Relays. Monson won the mile fast section with a time of 4 minutes, 38.13 seconds, Davis ran unattached but won the 3000 meters fast section with a time of 9:16.32 and Gabby DesRosier won the 600 meters in 1:32.37. Six field athletes also competed at the Jack Johnson Classic last weekend. Hailey Orlowski and Rayce Albino tied for third place in the pole vault Friday by clearing 12 feet, 1/2 inch, while Jordan Hirsbrunner placed fourth in the pentathlon with 3,972 points.
2. A RECORD SETTING WEEKEND: Seven Badgers earned their way onto UW's all-time top performers list. Alicia Monson moves to fifth in the mile with a time of 4:38.13. In the 60 meter hurdles, true freshman Destiny Huven and Melissa Symons earned themselves a spot on Wisconsin's all-time top indoor performers list. Huven has moved into seventh on the list with her Friday night time of 8.56 and Symons moves into eighth with her time of 8.66. Finally the Wisconsin 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Haley Lubow, Bianca Stubler, Ali Dorn and Gabby DesRosiers earned the third spot on the Wisconsin all-time top performers list with a time of 3:43.63.
3. AMAZING ALICIA: Alicia Monson has been invited to compete for the second year in a row at the Millrose Games in New York. where she stunned the crowd last year, winning the 3000 meters in 8:45.97. The 113th Millrose Games will take place Feb. 8 with Monson and Oliver Hoare competing for Wisconsin. Former Wisconsin track and field NCAA Champion, Georgia Ellenwood will be competing in the 60 meter hurdles at the Millrose games. The Millrose games are a prestigious and longest running indoor track competition where the best of the best runners in the world are invited to compete.Â
4. RANKED BADGERS: The USTFCCCA released week one national and regional coaches poll this week, placing Wisconsin at No. 7 in the Great Lakes Regional. Three Badgers are ranked inside the top 15 in the country for their respective events. Jordan Hirsbrunner ranks No. 12 in the country for the pentathlon with a score of 3,972 points. Alicia Monson ranks No. 12 in the country for the women's mile with a time of 4:38.13. Josie Schaefer ranks No. 14 in the country for the women's shot put with a throw of 54-1 1/4, which moved her into third place on Wisconsin's indoor all-time performance list.Â
5. UP NEXT: Sprinters and field athletes will head to Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in the Music City Invitational from Feb. 14-15. Select distance athletes will travel to Seattle, Washington, to compete in the Husky Invitational from Feb.14-15 while other distance runners head to the Iowa City Classic in Ames, Iowa, on Feb. 14-15.
