MADISON, Wis. – The No. 21 Wisconsin women's tennis team will travel to Minnesota this weekend for the start of Big Ten Conference action. Here's what you need to know before UW hits the courts this weekend.

1. BADGER HOT STREAK: Wisconsin currently hold an eight-game win streak with an 8-1 record on the season so far. This is the longest win streak by Wisconsin wince the 1996 season where the team won nine in a row. Winning this weekend would put the team tied with the second longest win streak in program history, only one off from tying the record of 10 consecutive matches, won by the 1987-88 team.

2. B1G TIME PLAY: While this is the start of the Big Ten season for Wisconsin, this isn't the first Big Ten opponent they have season so far. During the ITA Kickoff weekend in Columbia, South Carolina, the Badgers faced Purdue in their second match of the season. Nonetheless, Wisconsin's schedule will now move into play majority consisting of Big Ten teams.

3. IN THE RANKINGS: The Badgers check in at No. 21 in this week's Oracle/ITA Women's Rankings and are one of four Big Ten teams to be ranked in the top-50. Ohio State is ranked second while Michigan is ranked No. 15 in the nation. Northwestern rounds out the group with a ranking of 29.

4. SCOUTING THE GOPHERS: The 10-3 overall Gophers currently sit unranked by the ITA without any ranked players as well. Some comparable teams both Minnesota and Wisconsin have played include Marquette and Drake. Earlier this season, the Gophers beat the Golden Eagles of Marquette 4-0, Wisconsin edged out the Eagles 4-3. Also, both teams beat the Drake Bulldogs 7-0.
