IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Wisconsin men's track and field team competed in their first away meet of the 2021 season on Friday at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational.
The day started off with the men's weight throw where junior
Dan Ufearo placed fourth and threw a personal best of 62 feet, 7 1/4 inches. Redshirt Freshman
Cole Hooper placed 12th and threw 56-11 1/2.

Senior
George Ghafari placed third in the men's high jump — nine places higher than his appearance at last year's invitational — after clearing 6-4 3/4. Following the high jump, the men's shot put premier saw freshman
Jason Swarens turn in a stellar appearance to place fifth after throwing 55-0 3/4. Swarens also placed 15th in the men's weighted throw and threw 50-4 3/4.

Junior
Peyton Frankenreider led the Badgers in the men's long jump where he finished fifth with a leap of 22-10 1/2. Following Frankenreider, teammate
Cade Amborn placed seventh with 22-9 3/4,
Max Herkert placed ninth in 21-10 and
Quinn Lansill finished 12th with a leap of 20-6 1/4.
Lansill and Herkert also competed in the men's 600 meter run where Lansill ran 1:23.40 seconds and Herkert ran 1:32.06 to finish fourth and sixth respectively. Freshman
Davis Wenthe also came in seventh in the men's 600 meter premier run and ran a time of 1:20.56 seconds.
