Straight from the Court
Head Coach Kelly Sheffield
"We did a poor job of a lot of different things. I didn't think we were putting any service pressure out of the gate. As the match went on, we got the ball into much better space. We did a poor job of communicating. We got back in because they started hitting the ball out of bounds. We started playing hard. Jade (Demps) came in and did a lot of positive things for us. Grace (Loberg) did a great job. Julia (Orzol) had a tough time offensively but held the fort down in the back with her passing.
"What was hard was how we ended it. You're going to get beat if you're not executing. We executed during our last match and today we did not.
"We still have to get better. There's a lot of good things (over the past four matches]) It was tough with Giorgia (Civita) going down. This is a gritty team and in the locker room they're ticked off. They felt like there were some opportunities here. Welcome to the Big Ten. They need a couple days off right now. We've played a lot of volleyball over the past eight days. We'll take the time and get ready to hit the road again next week."
