Five Things to Know: Illini Women's Invitational

Badgers head to Medinah Country Club
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin is set to compete in its third tournament of the season on October 11-12. The Badgers are headed to Medinah, Illinois to compete in the Illini Women's Invitational.
Here are five things to know before the team tees it up:
1. Last Time Out: Wisconsin hosted the Badger Invitational on September 19-21. The team finished fourth after shooting an 882 (+18). In the first round, the team shot a five-under-par 283 to tie the fifth-lowest 18-hole score in program history. Four Wisconsin players finished in the top-20 with Vanessa Ho leading the pack. The freshman finished sixth after shooting a career-low 217 (+1). Emily Lauterbach notched her first career top-10 finish, coming in ninth with a three-over-par 219. Individual entry Tracy Lee finished T14 with a 221 (+5) and Mackenzie Hahn finished T20 with a 222 (+6).
2. The Course: Medinah Country Club has played host to many prestigious events, including the 2019 BMW Championship, 2012 Ryder Cup, 1999 and 2006 PGA Championship and 1949, 1975 and 1990 U.S. Open. Designed by Tom Bendelow in 1928, Course No. 3 at Medinah CC ranks No. 60 on Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Teams will be playing Course No. 2 as a 6,159 yard par-72 for the Illini Women's Invitational.
3. The Tournament: This will be Wisconsin's third time competing in the Illini Women's Invitational. The team's best finish was a T10 in 2018 when the team shot a seven-over-par 871. Teams will play two 18-hole shotguns on Monday and one 18-hole shotgun on Tuesday. The first round starts Monday at 8:30 a.m. and the second round at 1:30 p.m. Wisconsin is paired with Colorado and Maryland for both rounds on Monday.
4. The Field: Competing in the Illini Women's Invitational is Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Purdue, San Diego State, San Jose State, Texas Tech and Wisconsin. Competing for Wisconsin are Nicole Ciskowski, Mackenzie Hahn, Vanessa Ho, Emily Lauterbach and Tracy Lee.
