Postgame Quotes: Providence vs. Wisconsin

Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard:
"We dug ourselves in too much of a hole in the first half with some second-chance points and some turnovers that led to fouls too, so it was a double whammy in some of those light-ball turnovers. I've always liked the competitiveness and the grit of this group. Now we've got to continue to clean up and improve some of those other areas and be a little cleaner offensively."

Wisconsin Senior Guard Brad Davison:
"I think our defense gives us a chance to win every game we're in. This is probably one of the best defensive teams I've been on here in my four years of time. The second-half performance on Watson by our big guys was amazing. He had 24 to 26 points, then you didn't really notice him in the last four minutes of the game. So defensively, there's obviously a lot of things we can work on. Getting some guys back would be huge to that as well, but offensively shots are going to go in, shots aren't going to go in, but that's why we hang our hats on the defensive end. You can always compete and you can always be in every game. We have a lot to work on still, but we can defend at a really high level and we had a lot of fight in us tonight. I'm proud of that."

Wisconsin Junior Forward Tyler Wahl:
"I thought we were getting to the rim decently fine. We were getting good shots, they just weren't falling tonight. We'll get a couple of days off and get back in the gym and hopefully they fall for the next game."
