Badgers travel for six tournaments in 2022
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's golf has released its spring schedule for 2022. The team will compete in six events, two hosted by the Big Ten and one international event.
"We are looking forward to the spring season," said head coach Michael Wilson. "I'm excited to see how the guys respond coming off the break."
Big Ten Match Play
Feb. 4-5 at Hammock Beach Dunes
The Badgers will kick off the spring season with the Big Ten Match Play for the sixth season in a row. Last season the team finished in fourth place after defeating higher-seeded Rutgers and Purdue to advance to the semi-finals.
Puerto Rico Classic
Feb. 13-15 at Grand Reserve Golf Club
Wisconsin will make a trip out of the country to compete in the Puerto Rico Classic. Last time the Badgers made an international appearance was at the White Sands Intercollegiate in the Bahamas in November 2019. This is the Badgers' first time competing in the Puerto Rico Classic.
The Schenkel Invitational
March 18-20 at Forest Heights Country Club
The Badgers will compete in the Schenkel for the first time ever. Hosted by Georgia Southern, The Schenkel Invitational will be held for the 42nd time at Forest Heights Country Club.
Hootie at Bulls Bay
March 27-29 at Bulls Bay Golf Club
Wisconsin has been competing in Hootie at Bulls Bay since the 2011-12 season. Last year, the team finished sixth out of 16 teams as Cameron Huss finished T18 with a one-under-par 215.
Purdue Spring Invitational
April 9-10Â at Purdue Ackerman Golf Course
The Badgers last played at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in April 2021 for the Boilermaker Intercollegiate on the Kampen Course. The Ackerman Course was designed by legendary golf architect Pete Dye and renovated in 2016.
Big Ten Championship
April 29- May 1 at French Lick Golf Resort
Wisconsin has won the Big Ten Championship three times since 1920, the last being in 1994. The team has also been runner-up twice and finished third on eight different occasions.Â
The NCAA National Championships will be held May 27- June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
