Badgers on the road to compete in final meet before Big Tens

MADISON, Wis. - The Badgers travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to compete in the Hawkeye B1G Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Women's field events begin at 1 p.m. with running events beginning at 3:30 p.m on Friday. The shot put will kick it off for the women on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. with running events beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wisconsin takes on Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue and distant runners from Northwestern at the invitational.

1. KILEY ROBBINS CAN RUN: Kiley Robbins asserted her dominance in the 60-meter dash last weekend as she broke the school record twice in one day and brought home gold. The freshman from Milwaukee ran the 60-meter dash in 7.33 seconds, which currently ranks first in the Big Ten and ties for16th nationally. Robbins will run the preliminaries at 5:12 p.m. on Friday with the final later that evening.
2. 400-METER DOMINANCE: Senior Bianca Stubler won the 400-meter dash last weekend at the Hoosier Hills Invitational, leading a 1-2-3 sweep for the Badgers. Stubler crossed the finish line in 55.20 while sophomore Ali Dorn came in right behind in a time of 55.28. Junior Morgan Parzych finished off the Badger sweep, crossing the line in 56.24. Stubler currently sits at No.5 in the Big Ten and Dorn sits at No.6. The trio will run at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
3. CHECK OUT THE DISTANCE EVENTS: There will be Badgers competing in the 3,000 meters and the 5,000-meters this weekend. Brogan MacDougall, a transfer from Queens University, made an instant impact for the Badgers when she competed in the Big Ten Cross Country Championships, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors. MacDougall's personal record in the 3,000-meters is 9:08.25, nearly twelve seconds faster than the time that leads the Big Ten at the moment. She is scheduled to run the 3K on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. along with teammates Victoria Hiligenthal and Alissa Niggemann.
4. GOLD FOR THE 4X400 AGAIN?: The Wisconsin 4x400-meter relay consisting of Morgan Parzch, Ali Dorn, Bianca Stubler and Madison Mooney took gold at the Hoosier Hills Invitational last weekend, breaking the tape in a time of 3:45.21. Their time currently ranks No.4 in the Big Ten and No.10 on Wisconsin's all-time indoor performance list. The Badgers will be challenged by Minnesota and Iowa, which rank first and second, respectively, in the Big Ten.
5. WATCHING THE THROWS: Redshirt junior Josie Schaefer has continuously shined in the shot put. The redshirt junior still holds the No.1 spot in the Big Ten from her performance at the Badger Icebreaker where she broke the school record with an incredible throw of 59-4 1/4. She will be joined in the shot put by teammate Chloe Lindeman, who ranks ninth in the Big Ten at 52-2. Lindeman will also compete in the weight throw where she ranks fourth at 66-6 1/2.
