Game Coverage

Saturday, Feb. 20 | 2 p.m. | Welsh-Ryan Arena | Evanston, Ill.

MADISON, Wis –As the Wisconsin women's basketball team continues play on the road, they are set for round two with the Northwestern Wildcats scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The game will be streamed live on B1G Network+ from Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Ill.

Here are five things you need to know before tuning in:

1. LEWIS NAMED BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK: After back-to-back double-doubles, junior Imani Lewis was named the Big Ten Co-Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She is the first Badger to be named Player of the Week since Jan. 7, 2014, when Taylor Wurtz was honored. On the week, Lewis averaged 27 points per game, shooting 64.3 % (18-28) from the field. She also shot 77.3% (17-22) from the free-throw line. The forward added 12.5 rebounds per game and chipped in three steals, one assist and one block..

2. DISHING THE  BALL: Over her last six games, sophomore Julie Pospíšilovà is averaging 5.5 assists per game, tallying five-or-more assists in all six contests. The point guard dished off a career-high seven assists at Maryland on Feb. 4 after tying her career high with six assists against Illinois on Jan. 31. The 6-foot guard has also turned up her defense the last two games, averaging 3.0 blocks and 3.0 steals per game. She leads the Badgers with 1.4 blocks per game, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten, and 1.5 steals per game, which ties for 15th in the conference.

3. SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN: Northwestern sits fifth in the Big Ten with a 11-5, 9-5 record this season. One weakness the team as a whole is its 3-point shooting. The Wildcats sit last in the Big Ten in 3-point field goal percentage and Wisconsin will look to exploit that on Saturday by forcing Northwestern to attack with tighter defense in the paint. In doing that, the Badgers will need to control Northwestern's dribble-drive attack as the Wildcats' top four leading scorers are all guards.

4. LAST TIME AGAINST NORTHWESTERN: The Badgers fell at home out against the Wildcats 80-55 on Jan. 6. An all-around Wildcat attack included Veronica Burton and Courtney Shaw both scoring 15 points and Sydney Wood and Lindsay Pulliam finishing with 14 points apiece. Wisconsin gave up 42 points in the paint and 23 points off turnovers, which will be a point of emphasis in round two of this matchup. Wisconsin also struggled offensively against Northwestern, going without a double digit scorer for the second time all season.

5. HOW TO WATCH: Fans can watch the game on Big Ten Network+ with a radio stream available on U-100.9 FM radio.
