Fans can watch the Last Chance matches on FloWrestling starting on Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. CT and Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. CT. USA Wrestling's Team Selection Criteria denotes that the top-two athletes in each weight class will secure a bid to the 2021 Olympic Team Trials next weekend, April 2-3, also in Fort Worth. Competition starts Friday with the Greco-Roman and women's freestyle divisions wrestling to completion. Men's freestyle will take place on Saturday.
Amos signed his national letter of intent in November 2019 with Wisconsin and opted to defer in 2020 (re-signing his 2020 NIL) to spend this year training and competing with the Wisconsin Regional Training Center. He will join the Badgers this fall of 2021 on the Wisconsin roster.
Ranked No. 1 in the country during his high school career at Parkersburg South High School, Amos hails from Mineral Wells, West Virginia.
FloWrestling's forecaster JD Rader is looking favorably on Amos for the event.
"Braxton Amos got the four seed, but I think he's the favorite to win the weight," writes Rader this week. "He was the #1 overall recruit in the class of 2020 after winning Fargo five times and Super 32 three times. In his only senior level freestyle results he's tech falled CJ Brucki and beat Tim Dudley 7-2. He's also entered in Greco!"
Amos competed at the USA Wrestling Senior Nationals in Greco-Roman and finished third at 97 kg in the highly-competitive event last October.
