COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 game on Sunday at Maryland on Ludwig Field.
The teams played a scoreless first half, thanks in part to UW goalkeeper
Sven Kleinhans, who made a diving save late in the first half to keep the game scoreless.
Maryland (1-3-0) broke through in the 63rd minute on a Jacen Russell-Rowe finish. He picked up a bouncing call, turned towards goal and fired for the game's lone goal.
The Badgers' best chance came from the foot of freshman
Murat Calkap in the 70th minute. On a corner,
Noah Melick back-heeled the cross out of the air to Calkap, whose shot landed in the hands of the Maryland goalkeeper.
